Biography
Widely regarded as the connection between the New American Cinema and the French New Wave, Peter Emanuel Goldman was a well-known director of independent feature films in the 1960s, highly praised by Newsweek, Susan Sontag, Jean-Luc Godard, and scores of other newspapers and critics. His first feature film, Echoes of Silence, was awarded the Special Director's Prize at the Pesaro Film Festival in Italy. This film, and a film shot in Paris titled Wheel of Ashes, played to critical acclaim at leading film festivals, including NYFF, Venice, Cannes, and London.
