Jamie Courville makes work that examines perceptions of class, gender, race and disease. Her observational documentary feature film Gowanus Current made its theatrical premiere in 2025. Courville’s audio portraits have appeared on public radio stations, both broadcast across the US and on web-based platforms. Other recent projects include The Great Pandemics Archive collection of paper ephemera recently acquired by the New York Public Library, and a series of media art installations contemplating the changing landscape of Gowanus, Brooklyn.

Awards include NYSCA Individual Artist Support, NYFA CityCorps Grant, and Brooklyn Arts Fund from the Brooklyn Arts Council.
