Biography

Fernando Saldivia Yáñez (b. 1997) is a filmmaker based between Puerto Williams, Chile, and Chicago, USA. His practice explores the politics and poetics of the quotidian through an intimate observational style. His work has been shown at different festivals and spaces such as the Chicago International Film Festival, Ann Arbor Film Festival, Prismatic Ground, Big Sky Documentary Film Festival, Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival, Santiago International Film Festival, the Chilean Museum of Pre-Columbian Art, and the Gene Siskel Film Center. His latest feature film, Brief Space of a Time, received the Vox Populi award at the 62 Ann Arbor Film Festival.
