Biography
Erin Hayes’ first film, “The Dolls,” shot in 35MM, was awarded an Honorable Mention from the Black Maria Film Festival. She was also awarded an artists’ residency with the Rotunda Gallery and Brooklyn Cable Television, where she became a certified producer, and began her second film, “A Holiday Tribute to Alcohol in America,”
Before filmmaking, Erin received two degrees in fiction writing, and wrote and performed standup and sketch comedy. Other awards include acceptance into the TIP-EAST sitcom writing workshop sponsored by the New York Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. She has also taught film and writing on the graduate and undergraduate levels, including at Fordham -
Marymount and Pratt. Her articles and photography have appeared in “Newsday” and other
publications.
Erin writes and performs her own songs and plays keyboards and other electronic music in all her films, and tap danced in one of them.
