Luke is a DJ from a well-off New York family with a Lithuanian father and an African-American mother. When Luke’s estranged grandmother contacts him from Lithuania, he decides to visit despite his parents’ objections, flying straight to the capital Vilnius. Luke falls in love with the city, a wayward young woman Marta, and the underground music scene spearheaded by a combative gay promoter Andy. Soon after accepting an offer to become the manager of a new nightclub from the city’s municipality, arranged through grandma’s connections, Luke learns that the deal has strings attached.
