About

Logline -Ten months into the pandemic, day is for sleeping and night is for wandering alone and aimless on the East Side of Los Angeles. A young man reminisces about the loss of a great love, his tidal thoughts spilling out like water. A spare, meditative study on the unending isolation of Covid19.

“If we opened people up, we’d find landscapes." - Agnes Varda

The pandemic was heartbreaking, surreal, like nothing else. When faced with the unknown, my family and I have always bonded tight together like a pod of whales. During the pandemic we were determined, obsessed, with finding a way to still work and make theater, TV and film together.

This short is one tiny, delicate example of the fruits of that labor. Inspired by the ‘nothing is impossible’ and ‘never say never’ genius of filmmakers like Agnes Varda, Derek Jarman, and Roger Corman—my wife, sister, brother and I wanted to see if we could make a film with a budget of zero, found light, no help, no crew and being in three different cities, thousands of miles apart. We wanted to see if we could make something with favors, handshakes, thank you’s, and hugs.

My sister wrote and edited. Our brother Will stars in it, and I shot and directed. My extraordinary wife produced and made everything possible.

Keep hanging in and have a wonderful rest of your week, Daniel :)
