About
... is the most narrative/subjective film I have yet made. Because all the material was shot by me in a week or so it has location continuity, which becomes very important in the film. The pace of the cutting is still fast and the images still work from perception to conception or–perhaps in this film–to 'feeling'. However there is no consistent building up of pace and the fast-cut pieces are held within pauses so that there are often 'clusters' of images diving out of a mainly calm field. –M. L. G.
