NEWFEST x The Film-Makers' Cooperative: 1950 Best Actress Trifecta

On October 11th from 2pm-8pm, The Film-Makers' Cooperative co-presents NEWFEST's 1950s Best Actress Trifecta triple feature. We are honored to be a community partner for NEWFEST for the second year in a row.
The Film-Makers' Cooperative is thrilled to be a community partner for NEWFEST: The New York LGBTQ+ Film Festival, for the second year in a row! Since our founding in 1961, the Coop has been committed to amplifying the work of filmmakers on the margins, especially artists within the LGBTQIA+ community.
On OCTOBER 11th from 2pm-8pm at BAM Rose Cinemas, NEWFEST celebrates the show-stopping performances of Hollywood legends Bette Davis, Gloria Swanson, and Judy Holliday in ALL ABOUT EVE, SUNSET BOULEVARD, and BORN YESTERDAY, respectively. This tantalizing triple feature is your chance to relive one of the most iconic Academy Award for Best Actress races on its 75th anniversary, when Holliday won in an upset over the heavily favored Swanson and Davis. Whether you’re team Gloria, team Bette, or team Judy (or even team Anne Baxter; sorry-not-sorry, Eleanor Parker), this tantalizing triple feature is your chance to relive the Oscar showdown that film lovers still obsess over.
