Charles Henri Ford was a surrealist poet, magazine editor, filmmaker, photographer, collage artist and co-author of the first "gay" American novel; he was also part of the inner circle of Gertrude Stein in Paris in the 1930s and, in the 1960s, an important influence on Andy Warhol.
