Lunch With Clara1998

An old woman, Clara Berberich recalls her life as death nears. Her son with a family of his own, probes for information about his mother's past. He knows with her death it will be lost.
Clara and her parents immigrated to America at the beginning of the twentieth century. Her father was an alcoholic who gambled away his earnings at the horse races. Her mother attempted suicide, then was committed to a mental institution where she remained for the last forty years of her life. Clara's son tries to understand how these events affect him and his ability to be a father.
