Hold is an experimental VHS film shot in Erica's apartment during a recorded phone call (with permission) with her former partner. As he speaks about being hungry and says he “just hurts people,” Erica cleans the mirror tries to make it work. The camera captures the exchange in real time, with his voice heard throughout the piece. These scenes are intercut with visual sequences of
lilies being pressed and submerged under water, behind glass. Her hand moves slowly across the death flowers, echoing the gestures in the mirror. The film moves between domestic space and abstract imagery, documenting a private moment unfolding in both conversation and action.
